Joan Lunden, who led the way for women news anchors, has a new venture as groundbreaking as her work in broadcasting. Joan is partnering with passportmd, a provider of online health record and wellness concierge services. Joan explains why:
“As a mother of seven children and the primary caregiver of an aging mother, I understand the challenges that moms in the “sandwich” generation face as they manage the health and wellness of their children and parents. This issue hits home for me, as my brother, who took care of our mother’s medical information for years, recently passed away. I found myself having to recreate the last 10 years of my mother’s medical history. A tool such as PassportMD's ConcierCare, which collects your medical information for you, would have made this difficult task much easier.
ConcierCare helps collect vital health information including physician notes, prescriptions, charts, and diagnostic-quality X-rays. Not only does the concierge collect and convert old records and x-rays to digital format, they also provide health screening guideline reminders and help users create phone medication reminders online that can be received via a phone call.
I firmly believe in PassportMD’s mission -- to create “independent family wellness” tools that help save time, money and lives -- and have signed a multi-year partnership with them, to become the company spokesperson, a member of its advisory board and an advisor for future product development. I plan to use my personal experience and expertise to educate other busy moms about the benefits of using PassportMD, and the convenience of using the ConcierCare service”.
