President Obama intends to nominate Dr. Marcia K. McNutt (pictured) to be Director of the United States Geological Survey and Science Advisor to the Secretary of the Interior. Marcia, who studied geophysics at Scripps Institution of Oceanography in La Jolla, California where she earned a PhD in Earth Sciences, has been a part of 15 oceanographic expeditions and was chief scientist on half of them. President Obama intends to nominate Karen Loeffler, to be U.S. Attorney for the District of Alaska. Karen, who graduated from Harvard Law School, currently is Alaska's interim United States Attorney. See White House press release 7/10.
President Obama intends to nominate Florence T. Nakakuni to be U.S. Attorney for the District of Hawaii. Florence, who graduated from the University of Hawaii’s William S. Richardson School of Law, has been an Assistant United States Attorney in the District of Hawaii for the past 24 years. See White House press release 7/10.
