A Roadmap for Entrepreneurs - Venture Capitalists Reflect

New York Entrepreneur Week is coming up April 12, 2010. I was looking over their previous events and found a video called "A Roadmap for Entrepreneurs; Top Venture Capitalists Reflect". I was particularly impressed with Kylie Sachs, Partner at Ascend Venture Group. When asked to explain the characteristics of a great entrepreneur, Kylie answered that a great entrepreneur can "balance the practical with the visionary". Her point is that great CEOs  understand the barriers they face, but can say here is how I'm going to address the issues, over the long term and the short term, here's how much money I need to do it and the team I need with me. She went on to say that great entrepreneurs understand what to do on a day to day basis as well as how they are going to drive their company long term. Kylie pointed out entrepreneurs need to ask questions of venture capitalists to make sure they are the right fit for the entrepreneur.
