Young Women Reach out to Educate Others

Circle of Women, a student-run non-profit, is working to build girls' schools in developing countries. Their first school, "Project Wonkhai," will serve 600 girls in Wardak, Afghanistan. Doors are scheduled to open in September. Eventually, they hope to provide an education for every girl who wants one. Read more about it on circleofwomen.org.

Stanford Business Schoool Offers Leadership Program for Women

The Stanford Graduate School of Business is offering a five day executive education leadership program designed exclusively for women to be held May 12 to 16,08. Application deadline is March31,08. The program is aimed at women in supervisory roles or women identified as having leadership potential, but would also benefit entrepreneurs and business owners. Evelynn Hammonds Made Dean of Harvard College

Hammonds Harvard University announced that Evelynn Hammonds has been appointed Dean of Harvard College. Evelynn had been the University's Senior Vice Provost for Faculty Development and Diversity. Evelynn holds a Master's degree in Physics from MIT and a Ph.D. in the History of Science from Harvard. Goldman Sachs Donates $!00 million for Business Education for Women in Developing Nations

Goldman Sachs announced it will provide $100 million for management education projects for 10,000 women in developing nations. Goldman will work with top business schools including Columbia and Harvard to develop management education certificate programs at universities in countries like Nigeria, Rwanda and Afghanistan.
