May Board Appointments Match Women in Business Jobs Decline
May continues the second quarter slide with only 16 women appointed to corporate boards this month as reported by NewsonWomen.com. This reflects the same decline we saw in the May Summary for job appointments. Major companies appointing women to boards in May include GMAC, Broadcom, Infospace, Robert Half International and AIG. AIG is particularly interesting with only one of the six new board appointments a woman, Laurette T. Koellner (pictured), even though our tax dollars support the company. I am happy to report June seems to be more promising.
