Loyola Marymount University Economics Professors Jennifer Pate (pictured) and Andrew Healy released research that shows the "Competition Gap" (whether men or women are more likely to join a competition) shrinks when women can compete in teams. This leads the professors to conclude that "competing in teams levels the playing field by encouraging a higher number of qualified women to take part", and has implications for corporate management structures.
