Harvard President Drew Faust (pictured left) and MIT President Susan Hockfield (pictured below right) joined forces to create a new online education experience. Harvard and MIT announced EdX,
a joint venture in online education that will "enrich learning and teaching on both campuses and make courses from both institutions widely available to learners around the world, beginning this fall". Through EdX, "Harvard and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology will collaborate to enhance campus-based teaching and learning and build a global community of online learners". Also of note, Susan Hockfield, who has been the 16th President of the MIT, announced her intention to step down. Susan has been President of the University since December 2004. Read more on MIT.edu.
