Brenda Bazan and Nancy Hayes Launch Moolahoop to help Women raise Funding.

Moolahoop is a rewards-based crowdfunding platform created by Brenda Bazan and Nancy Hayes, both former IBM Executives. Nancy and Brenda want to reduce the disparity in funding available to women-owned businesses who only receive 5% of the total VC funding available and only 12% of all institutional debt. Women–led startups, while growing at twice the rate of overall business startups, are forced to start smaller and grow more slowly due to this lack of funding. Brenda and Nancy hope not only to provide an opportunity for women business owners to raise funds through Moolahoop, but also to build an ecosystem of resources called (can you guess?) the Hoop.
